I Look at You, Looking at Me
I look into Your eyes and see
The deep blue sea,
Sea of love, sea of joy
Your peaceful smile
Looking at me.
When you look at me, I see me
A crumpled mess of debris
You touch it and it flies away
Like paper in the wind.
You breathe on me and light
A tiny fire within,
Within my heart
The heart of a little child
A child frightened in the night.
I look again into your eyes
Blue as the ocean and I take Your hand,
You smile.
Your peace fills my soul again
Love so deep, so profound,
All around is chaos
But in your eye there is calm
Just like the eye of a storm
If I remain there, there is joy
If my gaze looks to one side or the other
The storm rages all around
Only in You
Peace, Calm, Joy is found.
